Built the first purpose-built workforce management platform for the cannabis industry — an industry that had NO existing software designed for its unique compliance, training, and operational requirements. Hemptemps connects employers with qualified workers while handling everything from employer onboarding (GetAccept contracts), payment processing (Authorize.net), payroll integrations (Paychex & Paycor), QuickBooks invoicing, geo-fenced time tracking, mandatory training compliance, to multi-facility management and employer/worker dashboards.

The Problem

The Challenge

The cannabis industry was forced to use generic staffing platforms and manual processes to manage their workforce — none of which understood cannabis-specific compliance requirements, mandatory state training, multi-facility operations, or the unique challenges of a heavily regulated industry. Employers tracked compliance in spreadsheets, workers had no centralized place to manage certifications, and time tracking was either paper-based or done through tools that couldn't geo-fence to specific facilities.

Integrated GetAccept for digital contract signing — employers are onboarded through automated workflows with e-signatures, document tracking, and contract management, eliminating the manual email back-and-forth.

Payment Processing via Authorize.net

Built Authorize.net integration for employer payments to Hemptemps — automated billing, recurring charges, and payment tracking directly within the platform.

Payroll Integrations (Paychex & Paycor)

Integrated with both Paychex and Paycor payroll systems so employee payments are processed automatically based on approved timesheets — no manual payroll data entry required.

QuickBooks Invoicing for Employers

Connected the platform to QuickBooks for automated employer invoicing — billing cycles generate invoices automatically, syncing line items, hours, and rates without manual bookkeeping.

Employer Dashboard & Multi-Facility Management

Built a comprehensive employer portal for posting jobs, managing applicants, overseeing multiple facility locations, tracking staffing levels, and monitoring compliance status — all from a single dashboard.

Geo-Fenced Time Tracking

Implemented GPS-based geo-fenced clock-in/clock-out so employers can verify workers are at the correct facility. Digital timesheets with approval workflows replace paper-based tracking.

Integrated Learning Management System (LMS)

Built an LMS for mandatory cannabis industry training — safety protocols, compliance requirements, and state-mandated coursework. Workers complete training within the platform and certifications are automatically tracked.

Worker Onboarding & Dashboard

Created a full worker onboarding flow and portal where employees register, complete onboarding requirements, find jobs, manage certifications, view timesheet history, track training completion, and maintain their employment records in one place.

I was running a multi-location cannabis staffing operation entirely by hand — training, certifications, scheduling, time tracking, client onboarding, contracts, invoicing, all of it. 27nodes built a platform that handles everything in one place. Employees get trained through the built-in LMS, earn their certifications, get scheduled and assigned to facilities, clock in with geo-fencing, and review their timesheets. On the employer side, clients sign contracts digitally through GetAccept, payments process automatically through Authorize.net, payroll syncs with Paychex and Paycor, and invoices generate through QuickBooks — all without us touching a spreadsheet. It completely transformed how we operate.
